Sands Anderson
When the law firm, Sands Anderson, moved their office to Richmond’s Truist Place, they dramatically updated their office aesthetic. Transitioning from a traditional law firm with heavy wood interiors and little daylight to a new bright, modern, and efficient space.
Renovating the two floors to have a cohesive appearance and function could only be achieved with attentive coordination and creativity: strategic partial demolition and salvaging throughout, matching new acoustic baffles to existing wood tones; sourcing new light fixtures to complement existing; and extensive millwork renovations to fit new and old equipment.
The result is a sophisticated balance between client-facing and private workspaces. The client facing areas included large welcoming reception space with a variety of meeting spaces and an adjacent break area. Also included in client facing area was 2 conference rooms with an operable partition allowing the room to be combined to create 1 large conference room, with a coffee bar outside.
The private work areas included perimeter offices with glass fronts which maximized daylight to flow into the interior. Workstations, phone rooms, conference rooms, and flex areas were provided within the interior space. The clients love for artwork is showcased throughout the space bringing lots of color and interest. The finished office’s contemporary elegance is accompanied by spectacular views of the city and river in each cardinal direction.
