Our New York office is seeking a hardworking and talented full-time Technical Designer to join our growing team. We have a hybrid work schedule with a typical 3/2 split.

Responsibilities

  • Create construction documents that succinctly, thoroughly and accurately describe the work to be constructed
  • Survey and document existing conditions (3D scanning experience a plus)
  • Resolve a variety of technical and building design issues
  • Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews
  • Assist in construction administration tasks (RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, etc)
  • Manage projects online via web-based project management software (e.g. Procore and PlanGrid)
  • Interface with building expeditors during the permitting and construction phases of the project
  • Actively communicate and manage contractor relationships as well as in-house project communication
  • Manage multiple aspects of project coordination, and general contractors including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, and IT consultants.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience with background in corporate workplace interior design and renovation work. Core and Shell, Residential, Hospitality, Education, and Retail experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • Advanced Revit and AutoCAD skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and other pertinent project management software
  • Advanced interior architecture detailing skills
  • Understanding of ADA requirements
  • Good understanding of NYC building codes as applicable to interior design
  • Experience in project coordination, including coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, and IT consultants
  • Strong organizational, communication and relationship management skills that lead to the success of a project from the design phase through the construction phase
